CLINICAL WASTE

The sight of the clinical waste yellow bag is common to most of us whether we are working in a laboratory, in healthcare, or research etc.

Yellow bags are for the storage of soft items such as soiled bandages or swabs, disposable personal protective clothing, gloves, gowns, masks, and other bio-hazardous materials. No sharp objects or items with the potential to become sharp when broken should be placed into a clinical waste bag.

All clinical waste collected by VEM is treated at an EPA licensed facility by using steam sterilisation in a pressurised vessel.
